Privacy policy
This policy explains what information is collected when you visit researchinvestigation.com (“Research Investigation”, “we”, “us”), why, and the choices you have. Information we collect
We do not ask you to create an account, and the site has no sign-up or comment forms. We receive information in two ways:
- Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply and to improve the site, and we do not sell it.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider and the third-party services described below receive technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring page and the date and time of your visit.
The interactive red-flag scorer on our home page runs entirely in your browser. The boxes you tick are not sent to us or stored on our servers.
Cookies and advertising
We use Google AdSense to show advertising, which helps keep the site free. Cookies are small text files placed on your device. In connection with advertising:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Analytics
We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use the site — for example which articles are read and how people arrive. These tools use cookies and similar technologies to collect usage data on Google’s behalf. We use the reports in aggregate and do not try to identify individual visitors. You can prevent Google Analytics from using your data with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.
How to control cookies
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking cookies will not stop you reading the site, although ads may be less relevant.

Where data protection laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR or US state privacy laws (for example the California Consumer Privacy Act) apply, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. Children
This site is written for adults making purchasing decisions and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Retention and security
We keep emails only as long as needed to deal with your message and any follow-up. Analytics and advertising data are retained according to Google’s settings and policies. No website can guarantee perfect security, so please never send sensitive information such as passwords or card numbers by email.

Our articles link to government registers and other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
